The Joel (Joey) Cornette Scholarship
St. Xavier High School & The Joel Cornette Foundation
St. Xavier High School and The Joel Cornette Foundation have established a St. Xavier High School scholarship to honor Joel (Joey) Cornette (Class of 1999) after his sudden passing in 2016. The award will be available annually to benefit an incoming freshman throughout his four years at the school. An admitted student will be selected for the scholarship by the Cornette Family. The scholarship will be granted based on an application an interview process that focuses on (1) the student’s prior academic achievements, (2) his willingness to explore opportunties for personal growth through scholastic athletics, intramural sports and academic clubs, and (3) his family’s financial need. Joel’s high school experience was exceptional and this scholarship will allow for select youn men to benefit from the same experience. The goal is to create an endowed scholarship that will allow for Joel (Joey) Cornette’s name to always be a part of St. Xavier High School.
The success of this scholarship fund relies on our collective support and generosity. There are two options for donation. You can donation online here or send a check. If you are making a contribution via check (1) Please make your check payable to “The Joel Cornette Foundation” (a donation receipt will be provided upon request), (2) in the memo line write “St. X Scholarship”, and (3) mail your check to: Steve Hils, 5768 Whitechapel Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio 45236 (513.235.3962 cell phone number).
